2012 Salary Data – Now Available to Members

Members can now access 2012 compensation data. The following compensation summaries provide data on 34 positions across multiple foundation types and sizes. Each table provides the mean, median, range, 25th, and 75th percentiles. These documents also contain information on salary increases and regional compensation tables for all grantmaker types.

2011 Grantmakers Salary and Benefits Report – Full Report

In addition to analyzing 2011 salaries and compensation trends for 34 positions, the full version of this report includes data on staff demographics, salary administration, and benefits. Covering a wide range of grantmaking entities—community, private (family and independent), and public foundations and corporate grantmakers, the report is based on responses from 910 organizations and salaries for more than 7,500 full-time employees. The downloadable version is $149 for members and $199 for nonmembers. The print version is $175 for members and $225 for nonmembers.

The Council's Research Department conducts survey research in two areas: grantmaker operations and public policy. Use our grantmaker operations research to learn how others manage their boards and endowments, and compensate their staffs. Use our policy research to understand how changing conditions affect the philanthropic sector.
