Specifically, we will explore the role of community foundations in repairing the frayed threads of trust, unity and inclusion in our communities’ and our country's social fabric. In partnership with CEONet, this session will explore how community foundations can work together and with their local partners on solutions to the pressing issues we all face.

Community foundations have long played a critical role in the philanthropic landscape and now face greater challenges than ever. Where have we come from and what we can do during a time when lack of trust, unity, and inclusion threaten our communities’ and our country’s social fabric? Javier Soto will discuss the traditional role community foundations have played and are playing in the community, and explore ways we can work differently in the future.
These leading remarks will initiate a frank exchange of opinions on next steps for community foundation leaders. A panel of community foundation CEOs will respond to Javier’s observations and share their own experiences navigating changes and challenges in their communities.

Facilitated small group discussions will provide the opportunity to learn how CEOs are responding to the question “where do we go from here?” This co-learning session will allow participants to engage with new and existing colleagues in conversations on how to create community, work as public institutions, and build a vision for the future. Key themes that emerge in each small group will be shared in a short recap session.
Attendees have an opportunity to network and continue sharing ideas.
