Leading Locally 2025 presents a diverse lineup of sessions and speakers, delivered by community and place-based funders and their partners from around the country. The concurrent, peer learning, and breakfast roundtable sessions on our schedule were selected through a call for sessions that received over 250 proposals.

Rural and urban communities need each other. But while their interdependence plays out in their economies, cultures, and environments, prevailing narratives center on differences and divides. Meanwhile, rural communities account for close to 20 percent of the population, but they receive only 7 percent of philanthropic spending.
