Community Foundation Week 2026 Resources

November 12-18: Engage with Your Local Community Today!

Community Foundation Week, created in 1989 by former president George H.W. Bush, recognizes the important work of community foundations across the country and their collaborative and innovative approach to working with the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Each year, Community Foundation Week coincides with National Philanthropy Day on November 15.

Help raise awareness by telling your community about the work that your foundation is doing to address local challenges. During the week of November 12-18 and for National Philanthropy Day, engage in social media campaigns, local storytelling in partnership with media outlets, and other creative ways to engage around the importance of community philanthropy and your foundation's impact.

To support your work, the Council has developed a series of resources to help with outreach and awareness, including a draft press release, a draft op-ed, and two social media toolkits.
