Council Member Badge

Current Council on Foundations Members can use the Council Member Badge to show you belong to a community committed to advancing the greater good. It also shows that, as a member organization, you have agreed to practice our profession with integrity, honesty, and with a commitment to maintain and strengthen public trust in our institutions, as outlined in the Council’s Ethical Principles.

Usage Guidelines

  • The Council Member Badge may be used to identify your organization as a Council on Foundations Member on websites, signage, reports, brochures, and other publicity or display materials. The badge may NOT be used to indicate that the Council on Foundations has endorsed, certified, or approved of your organization in any way. 
  • The Badge may link to the Council’s website homepage (https://cof.org/). You may NOT link the Badge to other pages on your website or any other websites. 
  • The badge must always be at least 80px wide when displayed digitally and .75″ wide in print materials. 
  • The badge must be used in its entirety and may not be altered in any way, including proportion, color, element, type, etc. You may NOT animate, morph, or in any other way distort the appearance of the badge. 
  • The badge can be printed in black ink, grayscale, or in its original colors. You may NOT alter the color scheme of the badge in any way.  
  • The badge may NOT be used on official documents such as grant agreements, or official disclosure documents provided to potential or actual clients or purchasers of a member organization’s services or products. 
  • The badge may NOT be used in connection with any disparaging statements about the Council on Foundations or its services, or statements that otherwise reflect poorly on the Council. 
  • The badge may NOT be used on any website that is in violation of any applicable laws or governmental regulations. 
  • The Council reserves the right to disallow any use of the badge. 
  • Any unauthorized use of the badge may result in legal action. 

Requirements to Use the Badge 

  • Your organization must be a current Council on Foundations member in good standing. 
  • Your organization must agree to follow the Council’s Ethical Principles either expressly or implicitly by maintaining your Council membership.
