Members, Send Us Your Conference Ideas!

Elizabeth Krempley

Registration is open for our 2017 Annual Conference — Leading Together — in Dallas, Texas, next April 23-26, and we are asking our members to help us build the conference you want to attend. We have a call for sessions open until November 4, and we hope you will take this opportunity to share your ideas, innovative approaches to philanthropy, knowledge, and expertise to help strengthen this year’s programming.

Leading Together will be focused on two tracks: building vibrant communities and philanthropic practice. It will be a rich, immersive, provocative experience dedicated to exploring the essential role that philanthropy — and you — plays in society to create transformational change.

Our programming around vibrant communities will examine communities and the kinds of opportunities afforded their residents holistically, but we will place special emphasis on how funders may address:

  • Civility – Efforts to build courtesy and mutual respect in the conduct of a city’s affairs.
  • Culture – Efforts to support expression and artistry and to increase access to culture.
  • Economic Development – Efforts to grow a city’s economy responsibly.
  • Food and Water – Efforts to ensure the availability of quality food and water.
  • Health – Efforts to improve community health outcomes.

Philanthropic practice programming will assist attendees in understanding emerging and best practices in domestic and global philanthropy, including operational excellence, legal considerations, and policy’s impact on the sector.

As with all of our events, the Council is committed to providing our sector high-quality opportunities to learn, connect, and share with each other. Leading Together will showcase philanthropy’s diverse successes, best practices, and leadership insights from compelling speakers and presenters offering both U.S. and global perspectives, and one of those could be you.

We hope you will join us next April in Dallas, and we also hope you will share your ideas with us and contribute to creating a thought-provoking and rewarding convening. You deserve to be part of the conversation.

You have until this Friday, November 4, 2016 to submit your session proposal at http://www.cof.org/2017-annual/call-for-sessions.

Don’t forget to register by January 11, 2017 to receive the member early bird discount and save up to $780. Plus, if you register three individuals from your organization, you receive 10 percent off the current rate for each subsequent registration. Register today.
