Building Grassroots Impact and Sustainability by Reimagining Fiscal Sponsorship

In 2018 and 2025, the two largest fiscal sponsors in Baltimore shut their doors disproportionately impacting Black-led organizations. Why did this happen? Was it financial mis-management or a lack of financial support? This session explores how philanthropic organizations can prevent this harm and reimagine an ecosystem supporting those doing the most vital work. Representatives from Maryland Philanthropy Network and Social Impact Commons will explore how fiscal sponsorship can bridge gaps, drive economic power, and address inequities.
