Brennan Gould

Brennan is President & CEO of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, a community-centered, equity-forward organization with a mission to drive lasting, transformative change in Central Virginia. The foundation manages over $255 million in assets and distributes over $20 million in grants annually. Prior to becoming president, Brennan was Director of Programs and gained national recognition for her work to lead the Foundation’s Heal Charlottesville Fund in response to the August 2017 white supremacist violence in Charlottesville. Brennan received the Council on Foundation’s 2018 Robert W. Scrivner Award for Creative Grantmaking for her leadership on the Fund. Brennan serves on the Board of Directors of the Council on Foundations. A native of Iowa, Brennan holds a degree in philosophy from the University of Iowa. She is a distinguished Ron Brown Scholar and a Council on Foundations Career Pathways alumna. Brennan is a wife and proud mother to four young daughters.
