Tara Cox

Tara Cox (she/her) is Director, Development and Earned Revenue at the Council on Foundations, where she helps ensure the organization has the financial resources needed to best support the philanthropic sector. Tara leads the Council’s institutional fundraising efforts, building relationships with grantmakers, advancing key programmatic fundraising priorities, and building staff capacity in grants management. She also supports the Council’s earned revenue programs, playing a key role in the annual workplan and budget process, working across teams to improve the sustainability of fee-for-service offerings, and exploring new, mission-aligned opportunities.

Prior to joining the Council, Tara held development roles at the American Academy of Audiology Foundation, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, and the National Wildlife Federation. Her favorite things include the middle of a Philly soft pretzel, 90s alt-rock, puns, and crafting epic out-of-office replies.
