Biz Ghormley

Biz Ghormley (she/they) is a connector, facilitator and community builder. She comes to CHANGE Philanthropy with over 15 years in nonprofit justice, service and systems change work, including three years leading Operations and Member Services for Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP). Biz began her career on the frontlines of justice as a bilingual investigator for public and community defense at Bronx Defenders. They continued to offer investigative services to organizations including the Innocence Project and Center for Constitutional Rights for a decade. In nonprofit, Biz has leveraged her skills building community and weaving story, data and design to lead events and campaigns that center and serve marginalized communities at Digital Democracy, Inwood House, Alliance for Positive Change, the Refresh Radio Show and beyond. In their most recent role, Biz led communication and engagement for EAT in Oslo, Norway. Before that, she improved organizational systems and network activation with the North Star goal of furthering racial equity in philanthropy at Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy.
