Alana “Tomasita” Martinez is a communications officer and policy chapter member for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. In these roles, she works within the foundation to support thriving children, working families and equitable communities.
Tomasita is responsible for managing communications projects, supporting national policy advocacy initiatives and provides leadership in developing and implementing community-centered communication strategies. She partners with colleagues, providing high-level technical assistance to grantees and forming working relationships with external stakeholders in support of New Mexico and national program efforts. She has served on the 2020 Census Funder’s Collaborative and National Funders Redistricting Collaborative for the foundation. Tomasita has also co-led programming and advocacy campaigns like Racial Equity Anchors’ Get Out the Vote, Black Maternal Health Week and New Mexico’s Vaccine Equity campaign at the Kellogg Foundation. She has led narrative change campaigns that uplift the voices of communities that contribute to making lasting racial equity change for children and families.
