Channing McKay works on Mott’s grantmaking related to youth engagement through service, which expands pathways for young people to learn, grow, and contribute to their schools and communities. Before joining the Foundation, he worked with the Saginaw Community Foundation. He also has worked as a writer and editor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Michigan State University.
Channing’s passion for youth leadership and philanthropy began in high school, when he served as a member of the Saginaw Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council. Today, the Saginaw native gives back to his community as a volunteer with The Lee Mansion Restoration Project and the Pit & Balcony Theatre.
Channing graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental studies and sustainability, and a minor in sustainable agriculture and food systems.
