Gaskin has transformed the United Way of Genesee County since taking the helm in 2012. With his visionary leadership, Gaskin spearheaded a modernization of the organization's business model.
Under Gaskin's guidance, the UWGC has increased its total assets from $6.6 million to $9.9 million in 2022. However, his achievements go beyond financial growth. During the Flint Water Crisis, Gaskin's tireless work and dedication to the community resulted in over $10 million in charitable contributions, earning him accolades from government officials and residents alike.
Gaskin's impact on the community is not limited to his role as CEO. A proud AmeriCorps alum and graduate of Central Michigan University, he is actively involved in numerous organizations and initiatives throughout the region.
Gaskin has been nationally recognized for his philanthropic work, including a feature article in the Chronicle of Philanthropy and a $5 million grant from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott in recognition of his leadership.
