Susan W. DeVenny

Susan DeVenny serves as President & CEO of the Arras Foundation in Lancaster, SC, where staff, trustees, community advisors and partners focus on building a vibrant community for all people. 
 
Prior to joining the Foundation, Susan served as State Director at SC First Steps to School Readiness, the state’s early childhood agency. She has served on the board for the National Association for the Education of Young Children; chairs the Public Policy Committee for Philanthropy Southeast; and serves as Vice Chair of the SC Grantmakers’ Network. 

Originally from Newtown, Connecticut, Susan holds degrees from Furman and UGA. Susan and her husband, Mayor Alston DeVenny, enjoy serving the community together with their four children.
