Adrian Karmazyn

Former Ukrainian Service Chief
Adrian Karmazyn is a former Ukrainian Service Chief at the Voice of America. As a journalist and broadcaster at VOA for 27 years, he covered international relations and life in the US for a mass audience in Ukraine. He is currently a contributing writer at The Ukrainian Weekly and the Transatlantic Task Force for Ukraine (TTFU), amplifying the efforts of Ukrainian civil society in promoting reforms in Ukraine.
As a Fulbright US Scholar in Ukraine in 2021, he taught US politics for journalism students at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Adrian served as a Special Advisor for Strategic Communications and Development at the US-Ukraine Foundation (2015-2020) and currently serves as chair of The Washington Group Fellowship Fund, which sponsors an internship at the Embassy of Ukraine. He has also served on interview panels for the Ukrainian Global University project which places Ukrainian students at universities abroad. He has been participating in the Council on Foundations Philanthropy Supporting Ukraine project since May of 2023.
Adrian has a Master of Arts in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Ohio State University.
