Zaynab Nawaz

Vice President, Leadership, Training and Events
Zaynab Nawaz brings over a decade of experience in private and public philanthropy to her role as the Council's Vice President of Leadership, Training and Events. Most recently, she was Senior Director of Program and Learning with Women Moving Millions, building programs for its philanthropic leaders. Previously, Zaynab enjoyed strategic consulting with the Novo and Ms. Foundations in Brooklyn. She also worked with the Foundation for a Just Society (FJS) to expand grantmaking in South and Southeast Asia. Zaynab was also a Program Officer for the International Women’s Rights Program at the Open Society Foundations (OSF), spending extended periods of time in the Americas & Asia. Prior to OSF, she worked for almost ten years with Amnesty International in London, New York, and Washington, DC. Zaynab holds a B.A. in International Relations and French from the College of William and Mary, an M.A. in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London-School of Oriental and African Studies, and a certificate in International Legal Systems from the Institute of Human Rights in the Netherlands. When not on a plane or beach, Zaynab can be found on her yoga mat.
Fun Fact: Zaynab is happiest watching movies with her young nieces (popcorn w/ butter is essential).
