David Beckman

David Beckman is an environmental strategist with wide-ranging experience developing and executing successful initiatives that protect the environment and public health. In 2012, David became the founding president of the Pisces Foundation, where he leads efforts to support innovators working to ensure people and nature thrive. In 2019, working with partners, he launched Mosaic. One of the most significant participatory grantmaking initiatives in the U.S., Mosaic is building the movement infrastructure needed to strengthen the effectiveness and collaborative capacity of environmental organizations. Previously, David led the Water Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council; he is a member of the boards of the Water Foundation and Environment Now. 

David has been quoted on in the national press on environmental topics and published op-eds in newspapers such as The New York Times and Los Angeles Times. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and Harvard Law School.
