Anthony Santiago, is a professional social entrepreneur and program designer for foundations, non-profits and municipalities with over 20 years’ experience. Prior to founding Outside iN Strategies, he was a department Director at the National League of Cities (NLC), focusing on Partnership and Program Development. For nearly 10 years, he facilitated new collaborations with municipal governments and its Institute for Youth, Education and Families, while also supporting several portfolio areas from program design through implementation. From 2016 to 2022, Anthony also led NLC’s efforts to inform and engage municipal leaders on the intersection between health and housing, and led a cohort of municipal officials in the states of AL, AR, LA & MS around having a children and families policy agenda. He is a proud Annie E. Casey Foundation Children & Family Fellow and is committed to leading large-scale efforts that improve outcomes for vulnerable populations. In addition to a long history of program design and implementation, Anthony’s current consulting work ranges from implementing Healthy Housing technical assistance, to business development efforts, and performance management work for municipal governments.

Prior to his position at NLC Anthony was Deputy Chief of Staff for then mayor Cory Booker in the City of Newark, NJ. In municipal government, his concentration was in the use of data for innovation and performance management in addition to managing the city’s financial empowerment initiatives, and leading public private partnerships with non-profits and philanthropy.
