Michelle Liberatore, Senior Program Manager, CSR, Responsible Business at Verizon, oversees the Houston Economic Growth Collaborative, which brings together other corporations, nonprofits, community leaders, and others to collectively support holistic growth in Houston neighborhoods with the community at the center. Prior to joining Verizon in 2020, Michelle served several nonprofit organizations across the east coast and in Canada as a consultant, partnering with leaders on large philanthropic campaigns, leading teams and strategy development. Over the course of her career, she has worked with several mission-based organizations, including those focused on providing educational opportunities to students from underinvested communities. She also has worked for the federal government crafting recommendations to Congress, such as those focused on housing programs for homeless women veterans. Michelle began her career in marketing research and analytics in the pharmaceutical industry. She earned her undergraduate degree in marketing and international business from Villanova University, and she received an MBA from Boston University with a focus on strategy, as well as public and nonprofit management.
