Estefany Benitez

Estefany Benitez, Sasaki Foundation program manager, specializes in youth development and work-based learning. Since 2022, she has lead the successful growth of the Summer Exploratory Experience in Design and launched the Designing Environmental and Social Impact internship. Estefany is passionate about youth engagement and education. Having been a part of the youth employment pipeline in the City of Boston, she recognizes the powerful influence it had on her educational and career choices. Estefany holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Boston University and enjoys passing down her knowledge of ecology, botany, and history to youth.

Through her own experience as an immigrant child in the Boston Public Schools system, she understands the challenges facing urban youth and the additional barriers to immigrant communities in accessing the design industry. She is determined to make design an accessible tool with which future generations can influence their own communities.
