Chief Development Officer

Angie Deane is the Chief Development Officer at Human Rights Watch, where she leads a global team dedicated to building support to defend human rights worldwide.  She joined the organization in 2013 as the New York City Director and until recently was a Managing Director for North America.  Prior to HRW, Angie worked as the Development Director with the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect in New York as well as the Genocide Intervention Network in Washington, DC. She holds a Master’s degree in Global Affairs from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in French and Communications from Miami University and the Sorbonne. She lives in the United States Midwest with her husband Noah and their three young children, George, Betty, and Francie.
