Ashan Jayasuriya

Ashan Jayasuriya is a human centered leader with a rich background in youth development, learning and development, and strategic thinking. Currently serving as a Learning and Development Partner, he designs and facilitates engaging learning experiences that foster growth, innovation, and belonging across the YMCA of the North. Ashan got his start at the University YMCA on the campus of the University of Minnesota where, while he was getting his degree in Computer Science, he gained a passion for youth work and seeing the impact of bringing people together. In his past roles as an Equity and Culture Specialist and Program Evaluation Specialist, Ashan led cross-functional efforts to build equity into systems, uplift underrepresented voices, and drive data informed improvements. His work is grounded in a deep commitment to strengthening communities, and building environments where everyone can thrive in a more just society.
