The Maybelle Center

Lead Member Inclusion Coordinator

Shane Skinner (they/them) is a facilitator of belonging and inclusion with over two decades of experience creating spaces for connection through arts, equity, and social engagement. As Lead Member Inclusion Coordinator and Chairperson of Maybelle Center’s Belonging Council, Shane develops strategies to measure and strengthen belonging among members and staff. Their work in community dialogue began in the early 2000s as Program Director for Connect the Dots Productions, where they paired theatre with programming—like hosting forums on Oregon’s history of racism alongside a production of The Laramie Project. Since then, Shane has served on Tualatin’s Equity Committee Planning Group, co-created Southern Oregon’s first monthly LGBTQ+ dance party, DanceHaul, and produced grassroots arts initiatives like Chaos Comedy Night, a sketch comedy and improv show. With a background in theatre management and community organizing, Shane combines creativity and strategy to foster inclusive spaces where people can connect and thrive.
