Buhl Regional Health Foundation

Executive Director and CFO

Jennifer Barborak is executive director and CFO of the Buhl Regional Health Foundation (BRHF). A registered nurse with experience in emergency medicine, environmental science, and business operations, she leads the foundation’s strategic planning and grantmaking. Since 2020, Jennifer has transformed BRHF, shifting board governance toward long-term community well-being outcomes and collaborating with the Director of Programming to launch initiatives including a Free Community Dental Clinic and youth grief support programs: Camp Courage and Ninja Courage. She modernized the foundation’s funding model using catalytic, trust-based philanthropy, and inspiration from the Ripple Foundation’s 7 Vital Conditions for Health and Well-Being.

Guided by the belief that individuals can change the world by improving their immediate surroundings, her service-first leadership style balances team empowerment with the rigorous determination necessary to be a judicious steward of the foundation’s philanthropic assets.

Currently, Jennifer serves on the board of Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania and as a Catalytic Guide for Exponent Philanthropy, advancing sustainable, generational impact across regional communities. Outside of professional pursuits, she manages Fleetwood Farms, producing artisanal maple syrup and jellies.
