Elizabeth Y. "Betsy" Day

Elizabeth Y. "Betsy" Day is a career nonprofit professional with more than 40 years of experience with nonprofits as an employee, board member and volunteer. For the past 28 years, Betsy has served as the President and CEO of The Community Foundation of Frederick County, located in Frederick, Maryland. Over the years, Betsy has transformed the Community Foundation from a transactional focus to a strategic community leader focused on consensus building, collaboration with other funders and government, strategic planning, current and planned giving, intentional grantmaking, and focused initiatives.  

Betsy is a frequent speaker on visioning and planning, resource development, nonprofit management, volunteer recruitment, conflict resolution, and board governance and is well-known for her ability to facilitate groups, build partnerships, and bring divergent perspectives to consensus.
