Eileen Ellsworth

Since becoming the President and CEO of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia in 2005, Eileen has helped reinvent and reimagine the organization’s work and purpose. Today, CFNOVA’s mission is to advance equity using the tools of philanthropy and community leadership to do so. Under a new strategic plan that is focused on social and economic mobility, racial justice and equity, inclusive systems of economic growth, and community resilience, CFNOVA hosts several annual conferences and convenings, often in partnership with other local anchor institutions, and produces a range of data driven reports through Insight Region®, the Community Foundation’s Center for Community Research. Eileen is currently a member of the CEONet Board of Directors, the Community Foundation Opportunity Network’s Leadership Council, the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the George Mason University’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Advisory Board.
