Anitra Manning

Dr. Anitra Manning is a talent and human resources manager at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan.

In this role, she designs and implements a comprehensive talent strategy that promotes exceptional talent development across the foundation and within the context of a dynamic philanthropic landscape. She manages day-to-day talent operations, working to improve programs and processes that ensure the foundation attracts, develops and retains professional and executive staff that well-express the values of its founder, W.K. Kellogg.

Manning has served as a leadership development executive across sectors for over 15 years. She has led Fortune 500 and nonprofit organizations in conceptualizing and implementing leadership and learning programs through the integration of innovative solutions, platforms and on-the-job sustainability approaches. Prior to joining the foundation, Manning was the first vice president and business learning strategist lead for SunTrust Banks, Inc. in Atlanta. She also previously served as a leadership development consultant with Bayer CropScience and as the director, strategic partnerships, at the YWCA of the Greater Triangle in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. Manning was also the founding director for Meredith College’s Institute for Women’s Leadership and was a leadership development consultant with Girl Scouts of the USA, National Learning Services. She is a member of the Atlanta chapters of the Association for Talent Development and the Society for Human Resources Management.

Manning holds a Doctor of Education in administrative and policy studies from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.
