Prior to joining The Colorado Health Foundation in April 2017, Dr. Bynum helped launch a $100 million nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) to help support health care services and good jobs in communities in need. In his role today, he develops the Foundation’s impact investing strategy and manages a $128 million impact investment portfolio, which includes both nonprofit and for-profit program-related investments (PRIs) and the Foundation’s mission-related investments (MRIs) efforts.

Dr. Bynum is currently an adjunct professor at the Colorado School of Public Health and serves on the boards of Colorado Access, a nonprofit Medicaid health plan serving nearly half a million low-income Coloradans, Grounded Solutions Network, a national nonprofit that builds strong communities by promoting housing solutions that will stay affordable for generations, and Mission Investors Exchange, which is the leading impact investing network for foundations dedicated to deploying capital for social and environmental change.
