Joanna Trotter serves as the Executive Director and Senior Program Officer for Global Philanthropy for Neighborhood Development at JPMorgan Chase. In this capacity, she spearheads the alignment of national-local philanthropic strategies and coordinates national grantmaking across local markets. Joanna's leadership was previously pivotal in overseeing the Chicago and Minneapolis-St. Paul markets, where she directed the Chicago philanthropy team and played a crucial role in implementing the firm’s $150 million commitment to the city.
Prior to her tenure at JPMorgan Chase, Joanna was the Senior Director of Community Impact at The Chicago Community Trust. She was instrumental in formulating the Trust’s 10-year initiative to bridge the racial and ethnic wealth gap and led the household wealth strategy team. Her previous experience includes serving as the Director of Neighborhood Development at the University of Chicago’s Office of Civic Engagement, where she managed significant University investments in the Woodlawn and Washington Park communities. Joanna's career also encompasses a decade at the Metropolitan Planning Council, where she advanced community-building initiatives across the seven-county Chicago region, ultimately serving as Vice President.
