Joanne Kelley has nearly two decades of experience with the philanthropic sector, leading efforts to provide education and advocacy for Colorado’s diverse network of foundations and other organizations investing in complex challenges faced by communities across the state.
Under her leadership as CEO, Philanthropy Colorado has grown into a vibrant and robust organization that aims to advance equity and sustainability and foster collaboration among foundations, nonprofits, and community partners. Kelley previously honed her expertise in journalism, covering finance, politics, and social sector issues.
Kelley has been a board member of United Philanthropy Forum and Colorado Society of Association Executives. She is past Board Chair of Food and Environment Reporting Network, an independent investigative news organization. She has a Master of Science degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and a B.A. in Spanish and History from Wells College, where she has served on the Board of Trustees.
