Karla Mercado

Karla Mercado serves as the director of Philanthropy CA and Public Policy. She serves as a strategic partner and supports the organization’s key statewide public policy initiatives and collaborations for Philanthropy CA. Karla works with Philanthropy CA staff to determine and prioritize statewide projects and overseeing the development of an overall strategy for core groups. Before SCG, Karla was the director of special events for a public relations firm. She developed and coordinated strategic cross-sector convenings for clients to expand their community involvement and exposure. She began her work in the nonprofit sector as a case manager for the Los Angeles Chapter of Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters.
