Mikaela Schlesinger (she/her) is a project manager/researcher in the Research Innovations and Partnerships group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Her work is centered around community engagement and interdisciplinary collaborations. She currently is the philanthropy lead and Native outreach co-lead for the Community Power Accelerator, which works to deploy local, affordable energy for communities. In addition, she is researching human population dynamics related to energy planning and community engagement plans for the recycling industry. Mikaela has a Master's in Global Health, which specialized in climate change and health, from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and a B.S. in Biology from Gonzaga University.
