Director, Place-based Investing

Nathanial Owen is Vice President and Director of Community-based Investment Programs at U.S. Bank. In this role, he leads the Bank's place-based investing strategies, which are the bank’s concentrated, long-term commitments that involve community co-design with strategic partners in designated geographies across the country to help build wealth in low- to moderate-income communities and communities of color. Previously, Nathanial was the founding director of Mission Economic Development Agency’s (MEDA) CDFI, Fondo Adelante. Launched in 2015, Fondo Adelante is the only Latino-focused CDFI in the San Francisco Bay Area, providing innovative financing to support strong, thriving Latino communities. Nathanial actually got his start in community development finance with a summer internship in graduate school studying peer-lending circles in rural Uganda.
