Roohi Younus
Council On Foundations
Senior Manager, Projects and Partnerships
As Senior Manager of Projects and Partnerships, Roohi supports projects that build bridges across differences through the Executive Office. She fosters relationships with conference partners and Philanthropy Serving Organizations (PSOs).
Prior to joining the Council, she developed a niche understanding of nonprofit collaboration as the program manager of an action-based research project at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and as project manager of a study on successful collaborations with the Sustained Collaboration Network, culminating in a published book and three white papers. Her work at Lilly facilitated bridges between Muslim-led nonprofits and philanthropy.
As a co-founder of a consulting practice, Roohi has worked with Muslim and South Asian-led nonprofit organizations across the country, helping them envision and execute strategies related to conferences and events, project management, development, branding, marketing, volunteer management, compliance, logistics, and more. She uplifts diverse academics and artists as a partner in a speaker’s bureau and served as the inaugural executive director and board member of a community-based organization focused on inclusion and belonging. Prior to her work in philanthropy, Roohi managed cross-country teams on a global procurement application in the tech sector.
Roohi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from DePaul University. She resides in the Chicagoland area. Outside of work, you can find her trying new experiences with her family or making connections on the pickleball court.
