Shelly Maharry

Shelly Maharry is the President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Johnson County, located in Iowa City, Iowa, where she oversees nearly $50 million of charitable investment dedicated to improving the quality of life for those residing in Johnson County. Her work with a 22-member board of directors, professional staff, volunteers, donors, and community leaders allows the Community Foundation to be a strong, positive voice for charitable giving throughout the region.

Prior to her work with Community Foundations, she worked for 15 years at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in various leadership roles, including as the Director of Patient Relations and Service Excellence. Shelly earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and master’s degree in public administration from Drake University. She is a member of several local, state, and national organizations all working to promote charitable giving and the nonprofit sector.
