Tracy Russ is Senior Vice-President, Civic Leadership Strategy and Innovation at Foundation For The Carolinas. At FFTC in various roles since 1997, he has developed and led strategic initiatives based in systemic change across a wide range of capacities and topics, including building social capital, increasing civic engagement, boosting economic mobility, opening access to opportunity, and strengthening equity. He most recently led Beyond Open, a $20 million small business grant program supported by Wells Fargo focused within the Charlotte community’s Corridors of Opportunity.
Prior to his role at Foundation For The Carolinas, Tracy was Managing Director of Solid, a boutique consultancy that helps people build better tomorrows with large NGO's, major philanthropic institutions, Fortune 100 companies, public agencies, governmental organizations, and communities through strategy development, outreach and engagement, narrative framing, and communications counsel and services.
Tracy has served as Chief Communications Officer for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Chief Convergence Officer for ecoAmerica in Washington, DC, and Chief Marketing Officer for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. He is a German Marshall Fund Fellow, TEDx advisor, and past and current board member of mission-driven NGO’s.
