Tyler Hurley

Tyler joined Tiwahe Foundation as Strategic Communications Director in 2023 after two years as a development and operations consultant. He oversees Tiwahe’s grant-seeking portfolio and shapes the organization’s messaging around its unique and growing impact. With more than a decade of experience forging institutional partnerships and mobilizing community resources, Tyler believes narrative work is essential for driving lasting change and that we all benefit from uplifting Indigenous leadership and knowledge.

Beyond his work with Tiwahe, Tyler produces short documentary films exploring how place and politics shape our lived experiences, which have been featured by the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the DocuDays Human Rights Film Festival in Kyiv, Ukraine, and The Atlantic magazine.
