March 3-7, 2014
An initiative of the Council on Foundations
Philanthropy Week in Washington is a week of activities – some familiar and others new – themed around engaging policy makers in our Nation's Capitol. This series of in person and media events will demonstrate the vital role of charitable giving and its inextricable link to thriving communities. Philanthropic leaders will tell policymakers about philanthropy at work in the daily lives of their constituents and raise public awareness about the sector's successes – ranging from expanding access to education and supporting military families, to creating jobs and fostering innovation.
Philanthropy Week events include:
- Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) - March 5-6
Hosted by the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers with strong and ongoing support from the Council, will be the primary, Capitol Hill-focused event during which delegations from across the country visit with their Members of Congress. Philanthropy Week offers participants a comprehensive and impactful Washington experience. It will add a unique element of education and relationship-building for leaders of both community and private foundations. Visit our website for more information and to register.
- Alliance for Charitable Reform (ACR) Summit for Leaders - March 5
