Manager, Federal Partnerships
Dondré Young is the Council’s Federal Partnerships Manager. He recently served as a Regional Manager for U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, representing the Senator in nine Michigan counties. As a Regional Manager, Dondré managed the operations and staff in the Flint-Saginaw Bay regional office, managed community engagement, policy and appropriations plans, and initiated federal congressional inquiries on behalf of constituents.
As a gubernatorial appointee, Dondré also serves on the Michigan Board of Medicine where he is Chair of the Disciplinary Subcommittee. The Michigan Board of Medicine is responsible for promoting and protecting the public's health, safety, and welfare. Through his appointment, he’s a member of the Federation of State Medical Boards, which represents state medical and osteopathic boards of the United States and its territories and co-sponsors the United States Medical Licensing Examination.
Previously, he served as a program coordinator at the Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF), a community of philanthropists dedicated to enhancing outcomes for Michigan residents. His work at CMF involved researching, designing, and delivering customized programs, events, and networking opportunities, with a special focus on Michigan’s family foundations. He also contributed to the Michigan Community Service Commission, where he served as an AmeriCorps program officer for programs in Flint, Detroit, and Saginaw. Additionally, Dondré has worked with organizations such as the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and Michigan League of Conservation Voters.
Dondré hails from Flint and is a proud graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University. He is a huge car enthusiast who loves attending the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI and Back to the Bricks Car Show in Flint, MI.
