Forward-thinking Strategies to Retain Local Community Wealth

Community foundations play a unique role in cultivating and retaining local community wealth, all while navigating the challenges of the transfer of wealth and an evolving philanthropic environment. This conversation, in partnership with CEONet, shared creative ways to increase the capacity and capital necessary to drive transformative change that is locally authentic and inclusive.  

This conversation focused on: 

  • What are successful forward-thinking strategies for retaining local wealth and contributing to local communities?  
  • How do community foundations recognize the transfer of wealth and be proactive in maintaining the local community donor base?
  • How can community foundations promote tax-wise giving strategies to their donor base and work alongside state legislation to accomplish similar goals?
