Over the past weeks, COVID-19 has changed most community foundation's disaster and crisis management plans by the hour. As primary local funders throughout this pandemic, many are launching local response funds, shifting to immediate operational and unrestricted grants, and seeking best practices to meet the current and emerging needs of their communities.

During this session, participants will engage in a Q&A discussion to address emerging legal questions related to:

  • Evading Historical Value
  • Granting in Economic Downturns
  • Assessing the “perpetuity” long-view in crisis
  • Leveraging admin fees in crisis

Registrants will have an opportunity to share top questions/concerns for legal review prior to the session.

Nonprofit attorneys from the Council on Foundations, Bryan Del Rosario and Ben McDearmon, as well as Lead Strategist for community philanthropy, Brad Ward, will be present to tackle specific issues and clarifications as needed.
