Manager, Leadership
Elizabeth Mendoza, Ph.D., has served the educational community for over two decades by designing and advocating college-going and retention programs and her research that intersects theories of learning, critical theories of race, and community partnerships. This includes, for example, working with math teachers and community members to co-create professional development frameworks that foster equity in math classrooms, and leveraging inquiry with partner organizations to promote youth voice in career equity for youth. Over the past eight years, Liz has been a student of Curanderismo, a traditional Mexican healing art, and is working to integrate these teachings with her research to center healing in education. With this aim, she co-founded the Healing, Empowerment, and Love (HEAL) Program for women of color graduate students. She earned her Ph.D. in Learning Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder.
She is the mother of twin boys, lives with two doggies, and loves to dance, especially barefoot and under the stars.
