The Council Mourns the Loss of Sharon King

Former Council Board Member Sharon King passed away last week after more than 40 years of service to the field. She will be remembered for her tireless dedication to philanthropy and to promoting social justice. Her career included time as President of the Hazen Foundation and nearly 20 years as President of the F.B. Heron Foundation.

In addition to serving on the Council’s Board (1997-2000), Sharon was a Trustee of the Altman Foundation, the founding Board Chair of Firelight Media, Board Member of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, and Board Member of the Association of Black Foundation Executives.
