Citi Foundation, in partnership with the National Development Council, is pleased to announce an innovative training opportunity for foundations that are making mission investments in community development projects. Community Development Finance Training for Foundations is a series of two rigorous, three-day courses designed to equip foundations with the tools and techniques to make mission investments that achieve results. Developed and conducted by the National Development Council (NDC), the nation’s leading provider of community and economic development finance training and technical assistance, the training explores the financial analysis techniques to prudently utilize philanthropic dollars for projects that improve low and moderate-income communities. Participants will gain a solid understanding of both the basic tools and newest techniques used by successful economic and community development professionals to finance real estate projects – affordable housing, community facilities and commercial developments – and assist small businesses that are creating much-needed jobs. Using case studies based on actual foundation-funded deals, participants will explore the financing resources available for community development projects and the best use of foundation financing sources.
