Philanthropy's Response to the 2022 Afghanistan Earthquake

Resources to Guide Philanthropic Response

A 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan on June 22, 2022, resulting in the deadliest earthquake to hit the region in over two decades, killing more than 1,000 people and injuring 1,500. Before the devastating impact of this earthquake, Afghanistan was already grappling with one of the world’s worst humanitarian and economic crises, with over half of the population already in need of humanitarian assistance.
