Disaster Overview
Hurricane Michael made landfall on the Florida Panhandle as a Category 4 storm that resulted in dangerous storm surge flooding, destructive winds of more than 150 mph and flooding rainfall. As it moved inland, Michael also brought heavy rain and strong winds to other parts of the southeastern United States. Webinar
The Council co-hosted a webinar with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy to discuss what is transpiring in communities impacted by Hurricane Michael, as well as an understanding of the scope of support and resources available within a philanthropic response, on October 15, 2018. Speakers included representatives of the Florida Nonprofit Alliance, CDP Hurricane Harvey Recovery Fund, Volunteer Florida, and Catholic Charities of Florida.

Disaster Philanthropy Resources
The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) is the Council's recommended partner for those needing support in mobilizing a philanthropic response to disasters.
