Acting Director/ Project Officer, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Sarah Napoli is the current acting director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the Human Resources department at Open Society foundations. Previous to this, she was the project officer focused on disability inclusion. She identifies as a proud disabled person and has a passion for intersectional disability justice.
She worked within higher education for almost 20 years, conducting training, workshops on social justice and intercultural competency. She holds two MA degrees in social justice in intercultural relations and applied human rights. She worked within private, public, and community colleges and held positions in service learning, diversity, and disability services. Her work uses various arts-based techniques to discuss social issues, and she has a long history of using theatre and hip hop as tools to discuss social change. Sarah has presented at several local and international conferences including NCORE, AMOSSHE UK, and the International Hip Hop Studies Conference in Cambridge, England. Sarah provides consulting services for several NGOs and non-profit organizations and has worked all over the USA and in several international contexts, including Japan, Guatemala, throughout Europe, South Africa, and Canada.
