Deepa Vedavyas

Program Manager for Neighborhoods and Environment
Deepa Vedavyas serves as the Program Manager at the Cleveland Foundation, on an integrated, broad-based approach that connects neighborhoods and the environment program areas. Deepa also leads foundation wide grants alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and has launched a 15-month SDG learning cohort for community foundations of Northern OH in partnership with Philanthropy Ohio. In her former position she served as the City of Cleveland's sustainability manager, where she led the city's Clean Energy Plan and LEED for Cities city-wide certification.
Her volunteer engagements include serving at the USGBC's LEED for Cities and Communities Working Group, international WELL Cities Advisory, co-chair of the UN SDSN USA Working Group on Diversity, Equity, and Justice for Sustainable Development, and as a Climate Champion of OH at the American Planning Association's Sustainable Communities Division.
She holds a degree in architecture from Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, India and master's in urban and regional planning from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA.
