Vice President of Finance

Punit Kohli is responsible for maintaining Candid’s financial health and stability. He oversees all finance and accounting functions, provides strategic direction on the organization-wide budgeting process, and assists in establishing policies and practices to fulfill Candid’s mission.

Prior to joining Candid in 2020, he was Director of Finance at The Helmsley Charitable Trust for five years, where he established the financial planning and analysis function to generate efficiencies in the organization’s grant making and operating expense planning process. Before a career pivot to the philanthropic and social sector, he gained progressive and diverse experience in financial management roles with multi-national corporations. From 2004 to 2014 he held positions with increasing responsibility managing the strategic finance function at Colgate-Palmolive, Weight Watchers, and Ocean Spray. Early in his career, he worked at PepsiCo and Polaroid.

Punit currently serves on the board of the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON). He has previously served as a board member and treasurer for various organizations, including Massachusetts LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Massachusetts Asian Pacific Islanders for Health, and is an active member of Financial Executives Networking Group.

He completed the Financial Executive Leadership Program at University of Pennsylvania, earned his MBA from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and received a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Delhi, India.
