
Erin Johnson

Vice President, Community Investment
Erin Johnson has worked in the nonprofit field for over 25 years with a focus on reproductive health, disease prevention, capacity building and philanthropy. As Vice President for Community Investment at Central Carolina Community Foundation, she leads the foundation’s efforts to increase its impact in the Midlands of South Carolina. She oversees competitive grantmaking, scholarship programs, and program-related initiatives. She also implements community engagement strategies that help connect community needs and opportunities with available resources. Additionally, Erin spearheads the One SC Fund, South Carolina’s statewide disaster relief fund that has granted more than $12 Million to nonprofits responding to state declared disasters.
Erin currently serves on the Community Foundation Advisory Committee for Philanthropy Southeast and the Board of Trustees of Richland Library. She previously served as a health educator for the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, an instructor at Baylor University, and in various roles at the South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy including the Chief Community Investment Officer. She is a program planner at heart, enjoys helping practitioners translate research into practice, and leads with empathy and equity.
Erin is a proud alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She has been named a Woman of Influence by Columbia Business Report, The State Newspaper’s 20 Under 40, and is a Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Fellow.
In her spare time, Erin enjoys watching the Tar Heels, Carolina Panthers and USC Women’s Basketball, playing tennis, walking while engrossed in a This American Life podcast, reading and spending time with her husband and daughters.
